English Translation:

"The charming artists Ohad Ben Shimon and Veniamin Kazachenko invite you to their temporary set in 1646 for a collective theater performance. Open until Saturday, April 14 to visit in The Hague.

The title of the exhibition You Are Courteously Invited here should be taken literally. Ben Shimon and Kazachenko expect an active contribution of the visitors to the exhibition in which they want to investigate how the public and art institutions relate to each other. The joint project is the third in a series of Ohad Ben Shimon & Veniamin Kazachenko.

The space of 1646 is classified as a stage on which props as microphones, an easel and a keyboard are to be used in a spontaneous performance. The interaction with the visitors are filmed and put on the website and on Facebook, where great movies are to be seen in which they talk with visitors, and the famous music band Will & The People which they found in front of 1646 and picked them off the street to perform inside.

In this way the exhibition comments on the traditional role of the artist, artwork, art institutions and the art market. The title of the exhibition, for example, plays with the standard opening of an invitation to a gallery opening, the artists also have placed red dots below the drawings, which pretend to be already 'sold'. An exhibition like this is looking for the boundaries between reality and performance, and life and art."
